10. CB Marcus Peters

Marcus Peters is a cornerback who quarterbacks began to notice right away. On the very first defensive snap for the Chiefs in 2015 in Houston, Peters dove for an interception. During his three-year tenure in Kansas City, from 2015 through 2017, he collected 19 interceptions, which counts as the most by any defender during that three-year span.

Peters co-led the NFL in interceptions as a rookie in 2015 with eight. Peters led the league that year in interception return yards with 280, 144 yards in front of the second-best player, alongside his co-leading two pick-sixes. Peters once again led the NFL in interception return yards in 2017 with 137 while co-leading the league in forced fumbles with teammate Chris Jones. In 2016, he recorded six interceptions, which tied for the second most.

In total, Peters amassed 480 return yards off his 19 interceptions with the Chiefs. Peters made it to the Pro Bowl twice with the Chiefs. Peters also earned First Team and Second Team All-Pro honors. He was named the league’s Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2015. Peters became the fourth defender in Chiefs history to win the award as Bill Maas, Derrick Thomas and Dale Carter won it before.
