15. WR Dwayne Bowe

Dwayne Bowe kicked off the decade as one of the more dominant wide receivers in the NFL. Bowe led the NFL in receiving touchdowns with 15 as he had five games with two or more touchdown grabs.

With Bowe leaving the team after the 2014 season, he finished as one of the best pass-catchers in Chiefs history. He concluded his career with the second most receptions, third most receiving yards and fifth most touchdown catches.

14. QB Alex Smith

Alex Smith played a key role in helping the Chiefs coming off a 2-14 season. Acquired via trade and coming off an injury in 2012 with San Francisco, Smith put up some of the best numbers in his career while playing in Kansas City.

Smith went on to finish third in career passing yards and fourth in touchdown passes, doing so in 76 games. Smith was voted to the Pro Bowl three times and was the league’s NFL passer rating leader in the final season with the team in 2017.

13. RB Kareem Hunt

Kareem Hunt’s NFL debut was one to remember. Hunt helped the Chiefs open the 2017 season with an upset win on the road against the New England Patriots after finishing with 246 total yards from scrimmage, the most by a player in his NFL debut.

Hunt went on to finish his rookie campaign as the league leader in rushing yards. 2018 was also a good year for Hunt as he was in the top five in the NFL in total yards from scrimmage prior to his release.

Although he only played in 27 games and was released due to an off-the-field incident, Hunt was one of the best running backs the Chiefs had in the 2010s and one of the best running backs the league had seen during the late part of the 2010s.

12. DE/DT Chris Jones

Chris Jones had a solid performance in each of his first two years in 2016 and 2017. But for Jones, 2018 was his breakout season.

Jones came away with a sack in 11 consecutive games, breaking the NFL record. He finished 2018 third in sacks with 15.5. Adding on eight more sacks this year, and his first Pro Bowl bid, Jones has 32 sacks in almost four seasons in Kansas City.

11. NT Dontari Poe

Dontari Poe did not have the flashiest statistics during his time with the Chiefs. He finished his five-year run in Kansas City with 13 sacks. However, Poe was instrumental in helping other players on defense earn a high sack total.

Poe was responsible for drawing double team blocking from interior offensive linemen, which allowed Tamba Hali, Justin Houston and Dee Ford to have the success that they had. With Poe missing only one game due to injury, his availability was key for the outside linebackers to find success on a consistent basis.
