The Denver Broncos are missing a few key players in practice this week, including rookie tight end Noah Fant and a couple offensive linemen.

The Denver Broncos are hoping for a better showing the second time around when they face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately they won’t be quite at full strength when the two teams face off given the latest injury report out of Denver.

The Broncos were embarrassed at home by the Chiefs at the midway point of the regular season. Since then, the Chiefs have officially taken hold of the division for the fourth consecutive year. Meanwhile, Denver sunk even further than before and, at one point, were 3-8 on the year and looking at another very early pick in the NFL Draft.

Over the last two weeks, however, Drew Lock has been installed as the rookie starter at quarterback and the results have been energizing. Denver is scoring more points than ever before this season, and the Broncos have nice back to back victories to their credit against the L.A. Chargers and Houston Texans. Even if nothing official is left to play for, they are building confidence and momentum toward next season when a full year with Lock could be a game-changer.

For the Broncos to continue their current win streak, the team will be doing so in the face of injuries to a couple offensive linemen and star rookie Noah Fant. Fant sat out of practice on Wednesday after being pulled from the team’s last game due to hip and foot injuries.

Also missing from practice was guard Ronald Leary and tackle Ja’Wuan James. When healthy, both players together would form the entire right side of the Broncos offensive front, but injuries have forced Denver to play others throughout the season.

Defensive linemen Adam Gotsis and Dre’Mont Jones also missed practice with knee and ankle issues respectively.

We will follow along with practice reports to see how conditions improve or worsen for these players leading up to Sunday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium.
