Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Charcandrick West announced his retirement from the game of football on Tuesday.

After five seasons in the National Football League, running back Charcandrick West announced his retirement from the game of football with a single tweet on Tuesday.

With the push of a button, West, who played only for the Kansas City Chiefs in each of those five years, called it a career.

Even the fact that West made the Kansas City Chiefs in the first place back in 2014 was a wonderful (and rare) story given that he was an undrafted free agent back from the small school of Abilene Christian. West would go on to become an integral part of the team’s offense as a scatback and special teams performer.

The Chiefs valued West most when starting running back Jamaal Charles went down with season-ending injury in 2015. West would go on to play in 15 games that season and make 9 starts and he put up a career-high total of 634 rushing yards on 160 carries that season along with 4 touchdowns.

In his career, West played in 52 games for the Chiefs and finishes with career totals of 268 carries for 998 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns on the ground. He also caught77 passes for another 589 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns through the air.

West also spent time on the rosters of the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets in recent seasons but failed to earn any actual playing time on the active roster for either team.

Next. Byron Jones could be offseason target for Chiefs. dark
