Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are coming off their much needed bye week with many questions surrounding the quarterback position. Is Philip Rivers washed up? (Yes.) Should the Chargers move on? (Not quite yet.) Is John Elway licking his chops over another old quarterback? (Probably.)

Regardless, this season has certainly not gone the way the Chargers expected. They were thought to be one of the better and more complete teams in the AFC, but alas, they are not. The Chargers, of course, have had their own set of injury issues. Other teams have had similar issues, however, so it isn’t an excuse.

On the injury front, the Chargers are getting better. Derwin James began practicing again and from all reports, looks to be feeling healthy. In addition, Russell Okung is likely healing from the groin injury that kept him out of the loss to the Chiefs. This will all assist the Chargers as they reach for more mediocrity.

Next week, the Chargers travel to Denver to take on the Broncos. Unfortunately, the scheduling gods decided that all AFC West teams should play at the same time so this will be a recorded game for me. Both teams are bad, but the Broncos are worse. I suppose it hinges on who is going to start for the Broncos at the quarterback position. I believe it will be Brandon Allen which means the Broncos will lose. The Chargers will keep their distant hopes of a Wild Card spot alive.

Opening line odds for the Chargers in Week 13: -2.5.

Game time is 3:25 p.m.
