Kansas City Chiefs have yet to call Colin Kaepernick after workout

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that no team, including the Chiefs, has reached out to talk further with Colin Kaepernick after his recent workout last week.
One week ago, an interesting curveball was being debated as to what the Kansas City Chiefs might do with regards to their perceived interest in free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick. So far, the answer is the same as every other team in the NFL who saw him work out in Riverdale, Georgia.
ESPN reporter Adam Schefter has word that “no teams have reached out to work him out, visit with him or sign [Kaepernick]” ever since he worked out for interested teams on Saturday, November 16.
The Kansas City Chiefs were among 20-something NFL teams who sent at least one representative to watch Kaepernick work out at the Atlanta Falcons facility in an oddly-orchestrated workout put on by the NFL. (Why not have Kaepernick work out for any team that calls him like, y’know, every other free agent?) Kaepernick didn’t like the rules reportedly put into place by the league at that point, so his representatives moved it to a high school in Riverdale.
From there, most teams decided to have their personnel come home, but the Chiefs were one of seven reported teams to be present at Kaepernick’s workout. Other teams who attended the workout include the, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans, Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions and New York Jets.
Schefter’s most recent report says that every team not in attendance in person got a copy of the workout video. Still there’s been no movement around Kaepernick to date and it’s unclear whether any team will open up an official spot for him on their roster.
When it comes to the Chiefs, the cupboard isn’t exactly bare, but any thoughts of signing Kaepernick would likely be about 2020 rather than the present. The Chiefs have Matt Moore and Chad Henne already on the active roster and Kyle Shurmur on the practice squad. Adding Kaepernick at this point would only complicate things on the roster and for the team’s fan base. Perhaps in the future when Moore and Henne are once again free agents (next spring)
