Adding a Much Needed Cornerback

The Chiefs have two cornerbacks under contract for 2020: Charvarius Ward and Rashad Fenton. Thankfully for Kansas City, that’s a pair of young corners who have shown some promise. That said, they’ll need to add some bodies to replace veteran Kendall Fuller, who is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent, and others.

The 2020 corner draft class looked promising initially but has really failed to impress as the season played out. There is still time for a player or two to separate themselves from the pack, but it looks as if there will be a handful of good but not great players in this cornerback group.

Stanford cornerback Paulson Adebo has had an up and down season but still managed to get his hands on 4 interceptions and has been a solid tackler. More so, Adebo has the size and zone skills that would make him an ideal fit in Kansas City’s system.

Adebo may not be the type of player that trails a team’s best receiver, but he should be able to be a solid starter and has some upside to develop into a top 20 corner in the league.
