If you found yourself shocked by the behavior of Myles Garrett and Mason Rudolph on Thursday Night Football, you weren’t alone. Several Chiefs were, too.

Most of us still are shocked even after getting some sleep.

On Thursday Night Football, the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers squared off in an AFC North battle that was important for both teams and their remaining hopes to make a last gasp this NFL season. Both teams have radically underperformed against expectations this year and for both teams, it was likely a last stand, so to speak, if they were going to rally.

While Cleveland walked away with the win, nobody is even talking about the standings on the morning after the game. All anyone can focus upon was the insane fight that broke out between Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph and Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett. Perhaps the best way to describe it would be to let Kansas City Chiefs quarterback take the microphone for just a second.

Here’s what Mahomes posted shortly after the fracas ensued.

In case you missed it, Rudolph attempted to remove Garrett’s helmet after being sacked pretty hard in a game that already involved plenty of emotion between two rival teams (think Chiefs v. Raiders). From there, Garrett got up and went after Rudolph. He got his Rudolph’s helmet off and even swung it at him. Fortunately Rudolph was hit with the bottom of his own helmet instead of the crown which would have, no doubt, caused serious injury.

From there, other players were involved, most notably Steelers lineman Maurkice Pouncey, who went after Garrett in an effort to protect his quarterback. There’s little doubt suspensions will eventually be levied and fines will be imposed. Garrett himself will face a lengthy suspension and some are hoping the NFL will make an example of him given how much damage he could have caused on the field.

Several other Chiefs responded to the incident, including linebacker Reggie Ragland who was glad it wasn’t his quarterback in the middle of it all.
