Week 16 – Chicago Bears, Soldier Field

Like the Broncos before them, the Bears, too, are bad at football. Let’s not read anything in to their victory against a Lions’ team playing with a third string running back and a backup quarterback. The Bears defense is mediocre this year, and their offense wishes it were even approaching mediocrity.

Former Chiefs coach Matt Nagy will be desperate to save his job by this point, and may insert former Chief Chase Daniel in to the lineup about this time in a last ditch effort. It will not help. At season’s end Nagy, and Trubisky, will be looking for employment. This game doesn’t help as Andy Reid continues his stranglehold against his proteges: Chiefs 31, Bears 13. (11-4)

Week 17 – LA Chargers, Arrowhead Stadium

Kansas City isn’t playing for anything at this point as their 11 wins have locked up the AFC West title, and their head-to-head loss to the AFC South Champion Houston Texans have ensured them the four seed in the AFC Playoffs. As such, we see a parade of backups in this one as the Chiefs elect to give the backups the week off.

We’ll see a heavy dose of Byron Pringle and Darwin Thompson in this one, and the results will show as Phillip Rivers plays his final NFL game, and the teams rallies behind him after an emotional pre-game announcement: Chargers 27, Chiefs 20. (11-5)
