The Minnesota Vikings are dealing with a single injury of note as wide receiver Adam Thielen is questionable for Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The injury reports aren’t exactly comparable for the Minnesota Vikings and the Kansas City Chiefs. For the visiting Vikes, the list is a rather short one, headed by a dynamic wide receiver in Adam Thielen who happens to be questionable for Sunday’s game. The other is a laundry list of players who continue to sit out for weeks at a time, the sign of a team struggling to develop chemistry and remain atop the standings in the AFC Wet.

The Vikings, to their credit, are in great shape entering Sunday afternoon’s game against the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Thielen is questionable, per NFL reporter Chad Graff of the Athletic, as he deals with a hamstring concern.

Thielen did not play last week in the Vikings 19-9 win over the Washington Redskins, and in the previous game against the Detroit Lions in Week 7, Thielen had a single catch. It’s a far cry from what he’s capable of doing, which is moving the chains at an elite rate as one of the best receivers in all of football.

Thielen has made the Pro Bowl for the NFC in each of the last two seasons. Last year he put career high totals with 113 catches, 1,373 receiving yards, 9 touchdowns and 74 first downs. Unfortunately this year his totals have slipped due to the injury, but he still leads the NFL with six touchdown receptions and gives the Vikings an excellent target to partner with Stefon Diggs.

Whether or not Thielen can go, the Vikes should at least take comfort in having so many other great weapons on that offense. Diggs is a Pro Bowler himself as another incredible wideout. Dalvin Cook is one of the NFL’s best young running backs and Irv Smith and Kyle Rudolph are both solid targets at tight end.

The Chiefs and Vikes might end up in a shootout if the offensive talents are capable of taking over. The Chiefs have plenty of Pro Bowl skill position players of their own which should make things interesting if Matt Moore can replicate the results from last week.

Game time on Sunday is 12:00 p.m. C.T.
