5. Alex Redmond, IOL, Cincinnati Bengals
Alex Redmond was an undrafted free agent who signed with Cincinnati out of UCLA in 2017. Now three years in to his career, Redmond is on an expiring contract for a team that could not be further out of contention. As such, he may have some value to a team working to build offensive line depth.
Enter the Kansas City Chiefs who have seen their depth tested (and seen it fail) regularly in 2019. The team may be looking to add some depth, particularly along the interior line, to ensure that they’re not starting project players or practice squad fodder in the playoffs.
Redmond will push starter Andrew Wylie to compete well, allow the team to shift Rankin to the outside and part ways with Erving, who has been functionally worthless as a starter in Eric Fisher‘s absence. While Redmond won’t insert himself in to the starting lineup anytime soon, he would provide valuable depth for a team pushing for a Super Bowl.
