Jay Ajayi, Running Back

Specs: Former 5th round pick (2015) by the Dolphins, 4 year NFL vet, 26 years old, 6’0″ 223 lbs, former Pro Bowler

The Why: Ajayi was recently cleared for full football activities and can start working out for teams. When we last saw him, he was starting for the Philadelphia Eagles prior to tearing his ACL last season. Ajayi carries with him a career 4.5 yards per carry average and 2,500 yards in 3+ seasons in the league. In 2017 he fell out of favor in Miami with a rough start to the season and was traded to the Eagles. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry for the Eagles in seven games that season. Its important to note that despite the injuries, he’s just a year removed from being the lead back on the Eagles Super Bowl team.

Will Noltie of the LWoF notes that “He’s one of only 15 players with three or more 200+ rushing yardage games, and he got all three of those in one season. He could continue to be a decent contributor whether he stays with Philly or finds himself on a new team.”

Ajayi is a young, talented running back who represents at upgrade at running between the tackles over anyone currently on Kansas City’s roster.
