The Kansas City Chiefs had listed starting cornerback Bashaud Breeland as questionable entering Thursday’s game but he’s active and ready to play.

Bashaud Breeland has worked his way back to the Kansas City Chiefs, putting whatever personal issues that forced him to be questionable for Thursday’s night’s game behind him. Matt Derrick is reporting that Breeland is active and ready to suit up in the Chiefs’ primetime game against the Denver Broncos.

The Chiefs had previously listed Breeland on the team’s injury report with the designation of questionable. He was not injured, but it was also not made clear to the media why Breeland was in danger of missing an important divisional showdown.

Breeland’s potential absence would have only exacerbated the team’s current injury issues that have plagued them for most of the season on both sides of the ball. While the team welcomes Breeland with open arms for tonight’s game, they are still missing cornerback Kendall Fuller in the slot, defensive linemen Chris Jones and Xavier Williams, left tackle Eric Fisher, guard Andrew Wylie and more. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has also been nursing an ankle injury since opening week.

The Denver Broncos are ready and confident to face the Chiefs after winning consecutive games to turn their early season misfortunes around. A home win over a division rival would bring them almost to .500 and would certainly have the Broncos thinking about salvaging their season versus selling off veteran parts for future draft assets at the deadline.

Breeland, a 26-year-old corner, has started all six games for the Chiefs so far this season. He has 24 total tackles, 1 interception and 2 fumble recoveries.
