Let’s take a look around the AFC West as the Chiefs and Chargers stumble again, the Raiders rested, and the Broncos earn two wins in a row.

Welcome back to another edition of Around the AFC West. Chiefs Kingdom appears to be spiraling into a pit of depression following Sunday so let’s all take a deep breath. It’s going to be okay. (Right?)

Week 6 was a weird week all around, so let’s recap it and see how the teams in the AFC West came out of Week 6 and how things project to be in Week 7 on the NFL calendar.

Oakland Raiders

Not to be that person, but I totally got my prediction right on this one. The Raiders didn’t win and they didn’t lose. They had a bye! Of note, this is the only prediction I have gotten correct in two weeks so I am in the midst of a crisis. Regardless, the Raiders stepped firmly into second place as the only other AFC West team to have a winning record. Good for them?

Next week, the Raiders travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers. The Packers are coming off a Monday Night Football win against the Detroit Lions, one fraught with controversy over the officiating. The Raiders, having rested for a week, are looking to upset the Packers.

To help their cause, the Raiders are getting a key offensive lineman back. Gabe Jackson has been out since preseason after injuring his knee in a joint practice held with the Rams. While it still remains to be seen if he will play on Sunday, he is hopeful. The Packers are without a number of their receivers, but they have Aaron Rodgers leading the offense, so never count them out.

The Packers defense is playing well and will present a challenge for the Raiders. However, the Raiders handled the Chicago Bears lauded defense so we’ll see. I think this game will be much closer than people believe and that the Raiders will pull off a win in an effort to keep pace with the current leaders of the AFC West.

Opening line odds for the Radiers in Week 7: +6.0.

Game time is 12:00 p.m.
