The Kansas City Chiefs will sit Sammy Watkins vs. the Houston Texans but the good news is that Tyreek Hill is finally back from his nearly five-week absence.

The Kansas City Chiefs are juggling two of their top pass catchers in Week 6 as they prepare to host the visiting Houston Texans. While they will definitely miss the presence of wideout Sammy Watkins, the Chiefs will finally welcome back Tyreek Hill to the field ever since they lost him to a clavicle injury early in Week 1.

Hill has been sitting with a sternoclavicular dislocation since he suffered it early in the team’s opening week game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Without Hill in that game, Watkins put up a career-best performance and the Chiefs have shown plenty of offensive versatility in the weeks ever since. Demarcus Robinson, Byron Pringle, and Mecole Hardman have each come up big for the Chiefs at times, but it’s clear they miss the big-play ability of Hill in the lineup—even as a threat to keep defenders honest.

As for Watkins, the Chiefs were likely preparing for a week without him given his doubtful status on the team’s injury report coming into the game. He has 23 catches for 365 yards and 3 touchdowns on the year and gives the Chiefs another big play threat who draws the best pass defenders on opposing teams.

It’s unknown how long Watkins will be out, but given the nature of his hamstring injury and practice status this week, it’s very possible the Chiefs return to full strength on offense next week—at least among their weapons.

The Texans kick off against the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium at 12:00 p.m. C.T.
