Brandon Marshall

The most well-known free agent linebacker by far is former Denver Bronco mainstay Brandon Marshall.

Marshall was a 5th round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2012 NFL Draft, but he has spent the last six seasons of his seven year career with the Broncos.

The Broncos let Marshall walk after last season. He signed a 1-year contract with the Oakland Raiders, but failed to make the final roster when the team got down to 53 players in late August.

Marshall started 63 games for the Broncos during the six years he spent with the team, and he recorded 423 tackles in that time. Besides being familiar with the division and having plenty of experience, Marshall would also bring leadership and strong run defense to the table.

While Marshall is unlikely to be a contributor in pass defense in this his age 30 season, he could definitely contribute down the stretch this season.

Whether he has yet to lower his asking price or if he is simply waiting to be contacted by a contender is anyone’s guess. But, if general manager Brett Veach can secure Marshall’s services, he’ll be a solid addition to a weak linebacking corps for the championship push.
