2020 NFL mock draft: Surveying latest options for the Kansas City Chiefs

Just for kicks, we looked at some recent 2020 mock drafts and some folks are serious about the Chiefs avoiding a cornerback in the first round.

If it feels a little early or silly (or both) to even think about the 2020 NFL Draft at this point, you’re entirely correct. While teams such as the Miami Dolphins and maybe even Denver Broncos are already looking ahead to the activity of the next offseason, others of us should be quite thrilled with the day to day activities of the present.

As fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, each week is not only another step toward a hopeful Super Bowl campaign but it’s also an exhibition of the team’s historic offense. It’s a chance to see Patrick Mahomes greatness in action. In short, as Steven Tyler sang, “I don’t want to miss a thang!”

Still, in a recent round of web-surfing (is that even what it’s called) about NFL news, a number of mock drafts popped up. Already? Yes, already. The NFL Draft is a year-round business these days and draft-specific sites are now populated with new content year round. Mock drafts are regular events instead of seasonal fare, which means we could even take a quick poll to see who the Chiefs might be scouting at this point in the year.

What was amazing when looking at mock drafts is that some of them aren’t giving the Chiefs any further help or security at cornerback. Let’s take a quick look at a handful of mocks and see what they are projecting the Chiefs to do in the first.
