Nine things every fan should know about the Chiefs and Ravens
Prediction: Chiefs 35, Ravens 24
The Ravens have had a nice couple games this season. Heck, they had a great season last year winning the AFC North. They’re a good organization with a good coach and a good team. The problem for them on Sunday is the Chiefs have their number in all of those factors.
Let’s say the organizations are even. Andy Reid is a better coach than John Harbaugh. Yes, Harbaugh has a Super Bowl but this really isn’t an argument. Andy should have multiple rings by the time his K.C. tenure is complete.
The Chiefs have the better quarterback. Jackson is hot right now, sure, but Mahomes is on another level. I can guarantee that opposing defensive coordinators are starting to shiver at the thought of Mahomes putting together even three quarters of play after watching film from the first two games. He’s on another level right now and he’s down a significant weapon and a good ankle.
The Chiefs have the better team. Yes, the defense looks questionable at the moment. However, they shut a team out in the last three quarters who scored 24 points on a talented Bronco defense that boasts one of the best defensive minds in football in Vic Fangio. My point is, I think this defense is clearly improved from last season and will only continue to get better.
We don’t even need to talk about the offense; it’s obvious who the better unit is even missing one of its key players. The Chiefs offense might be better than its historic counterpart of 2018. We’ll see in 14 games.
If Kyler Murray could throw for over 300 yards against the Ravens defense, Mahomes can go for 400 again and he likely will. The Chiefs offense will overwhelm a diminished defense and the Chiefs defensive coaches and players will impress against the Ravens.
