Week 2 of the NFL season is already underway after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took care of the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football. For our purposes, Week 2 features the Kansas City Chiefs moving across the map to Oakland to take on their division rivals, the Raiders. It’s setting up to be an interesting contest between two AFC West foes in totally different places as a franchise respectively.
The Chiefs had visions of dominating this Oakland Raiders team, who seemed to be in shambles as the preseason came to a close. Now, however, the Chiefs might have a slightly more cautious tune after wide receiver Tyreek Hill suffered an injury that will sideline him for four to six weeks. Patrick Mahomes, the franchise quarterback, will also play on a recently turned ankle against an Oakland front seven that looked lights out in their Week1 win over the Denver Broncos.
The Chiefs are a seven-point favorite on the road in Oakland. Is that line too high for this Chiefs team that is going to be playing without their top target and given Mahomes’ ankle? The Chiefs also have issues in the secondary, and an offensive line that looked shaky in Week 1.
The rest of the NFL is shaping up to have a very interesting slate of games ahead, especially what was once a juicy matchup on Monday Night Football now derailed by Sam Darnold being sidelined by mono. But do not worry, our picks on this episode were made for every NFL game this week, the discussions still got pretty spicy even while agreeing on Baker Mayfield for once.
