Artavis Scott, wide receiver
The L.A. Chargers have to hope that no one raids their cabinet, so to speak, to steal away a wide receiver like Artavis Scott, given the team’s injury history—especially at wide receiver (Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, etc.). Scott was a bit of a surprise to find out on the waiver wire, but no one claimed him, so he landed back with the team who first brought him into the NFL in 2017.
Artavis Scott is Clemson’s all-time leader in receptions but was passed over in the NFL Draft in ’17 due to his smaller size (5’10, 193) and lack of top speed (ran the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds). However when it comes to game film, Scott has plenty of experience to show he’s willing to make the tough catch on slants across the middle. He’s shifty and knows the angles in traffic, a quality that also makes him a nice option in the return game—both on kickoffs and punts.
Unfortunately for Scott, after a year on the Chargers’ practice squad in ’17, he lost his entire sophomore season to an ankle injury last year, which set him on injured reserve. He was likely going to break camp as part of the team’s 53-man roster, but instead he was forced to wait another year. Now, however, the Chargers are a bit too deep and Scott finds himself back on the P.S.

Every other #Chargers wide receiver combined (fighting with him for a roster spot): 210
If the Chiefs end up in a spot where they’re in need of a special teams performer, a return option or further wide receiver depth, Scott’s versatility and dependable hands could make him a nice steal from a division rival.
