Each NFL team must prune its roster from 90 to 53 players, meaning over 1,100 players will be cut. Let’s explore what to expect between now and Sunday.

For almost seven months, Kansas City Chiefs fans have had a fever. And the only prescription is more football.

With the preseason’s end upon us, the longest offseason in Kansas City Chiefs’ history is drawing to a close. After months of re-hashing the playoff loss to New England, saying goodbye to some big names on defensive side of the roster, flipping almost the entire defensive staff, and finally seeing the dust settle around the Tyreek Hill soap opera, it appears that Andy Reid and his staff can now turn their complete focus to Jacksonville. There, the Chiefs will commence their Super Bowl run against a proud Jaguars team that is eager to prove that they are a playoff contender.

The starters are almost completely set in ink. No one is entirely sure about who the starting left guard is, but outside of that, the first 22 players are pretty comfortable. But there are 53 players on a roster, and this is a pivotal weekend for the landscape of every NFL roster.

Before the coin flips in Jacksonville, there is one more major offseason event. This weekend, NFL teams must prune their rosters from 90 to 53 players, meaning over 1,100 players will be cut. Let’s explore what to expect between now and Sunday night.
