The Los Angeles Chargers signed former Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Dee Liner on Thursday.

The Los Angeles Chargers signed a member of the National Football League’s All-Name team (not an official thing) with the announced addition of Dee Liner on Thursday.

Liner, by trade a defensive lineman, of course, was first a member of the Kansas City Chiefs when he entered the NFL as a rookie free agent. Liner was expected to seriously compete for a roster spot due to his strength and size as an anchor along the defensive front.

Unfortunately Liner was unable to wow the coaches in K.C. enough to warrant a spot on the active roster, He lasted all the way until the regular season was set the begin, but the Chiefs were already too loaded with the offseason additions of free agent Xavier Williams from the Arizona Cardinals and the drafting of Florida State defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi in the third round of the 2018 draft.

From there, the Tennessee Titans were quick to pick him up, where he lasted only a few months. Now the Chargers are hoping to unearth a gem with further competition as they seek out the best defensive line rotation they can build in training camp.

Liner entered the NFL as a prospect from Arkansas State, but he began his college career at Alabama with Nick Saban. At 6’3, 334 pounds, he produced solid results in the Sun Belt Conference for the Red Wolves before entering the NFL.
