The NFL’s Top 100 list continues to count down and tight end Travis Kelce is the fourth member of the Chiefs roster to make it.
The National Football League unveiled the next 10 players on the league’s Top 100 players of 2019 list, and another member of the Kansas City Chiefs appeared in the ranking with the sight of Travis Kelce, the team’s tight end, at No. 21 overall.
The placement of Kelce at No. 21 is the All-Pro tight end’s best showing yet in his career that includes a debut at No. 96 overall in 2016 and then a leap to this general area of No. 26 in 2017 and No. 24 in 2018.
With another season like he put up last year, Kelce can enter the teens for the first time given that he set a franchise record for most receptions. He also briefly held the NFL record for receptions by a tight end before George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers also eclipsed the mark (and Kelce’s total) by season’s end.
Kelce has become a superstar in the game as a charismatic personality both on and off the field. He’s cemented himself as a fan favorite with his offseason activities like crashing the wedding of some Chiefs fans and he’s also a fashion icon who recently made Sports Illustrated’s list of most fashionable athletes.
Kelce is the fourth Chiefs player to make the NFL’s Top 100 list, a ranking of the league’s best players from the previous year as voted upon by the players only. Defensive lineman Chris Jones, pass rusher Frank Clark, and right tackle Mitchell Schwartz were all previously honored on this year’s list.
Kelce, who has made four consecutive Pro Bowls, had 103 catches last year for 1,336 yards and 10 touchdowns—all career-high totals.
