The New Orleans Saints have signed former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Josh Martin before training camp begins in the Big Easy.

The New Orleans Saints have decided to add a familiar face for Kansas City Chiefs fans to their linebacking corps as they prepare to enter training camp. Adam Schefter is reporting that former Chiefs linebacker Josh Martin has agreed to terms with the Saint on Thursday.

Martin, who played for the New York Jets last season—and every season since 2015—brings 51 games of experience at the NFL level to the Saints and he’s still only 27-years-old even after six seasons in the league.

Martin signed with the Chiefs as a rookie free agent in John Dorsey‘s first year with the team, after going undrafted after a college career at Columbia. Martin would play in 19 games for the Chiefs over the course of two seasons in 2013-14, but he failed to make the active roster for a third year in a row in ’15.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came calling with a waiver claim in 2015, but that was a short-lived stint and the Indianapolis Colts were next on the the list. After four weeks there, the Jets signed him away from the Colts practice squad and that was the end of it. Wilson has been with the Jets ever since.

Martin is a capable player on special teams who can also slide in on defense whenever necessary. Martin has 61 career tackles in those 51 games to go with 10 quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble.
