4. The Stable at Running Back

The Chiefs already has its starting running back in Damien Williams, but the depth behind him has yet to be sorted. Head coach Andy Reid typically likes to keep four running backs on the roster, and that number seems perfect with the depth the team has. With the departure of Spencer Ware in free agency, the depth behind Williams is Carlos Hyde, Darrel Williams, Darwin Thompson and Marcus Marshall.

The rotation will likely see Hyde as Williams’ backup, followed by Thompson and Darrel Williams. Marshall is likely a camp body and will face elimination during the 53-man roster cutdown. Breakout candidates at the position are Thompson and Damien WIlliams, who both have something to prove. Damien has been consistently underrated in his career, and Thompson will look to show his doubters why he should not have been slept on by 31 other teams. Nonetheless, it will be fun to see how he performs at training camp as he shows the Chiefs’ staff and fans what he can do.
