November 7, 1993 – Chiefs vs. Packers

Given the Chiefs dominance in much ’93, its not surprising that multiple games from that season make this list. Then again, given that the 1993 season was the second lowest of sack output of Thomas’ career (8), maybe it is a bit of a surprise.

Next up, is the Chiefs hosting the Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre on Monday Night Football in Week 10.

In a game that featured six field goals and only one offensive touchdown (a pass from the Packer Hall of Famer), it was the Chiefs defense that carried the day. Not only did Kansas City’s Dan Saleaumua score the team’s only touchdown, but the Chiefs forced 6 turnovers by the Packers and sacked Favre 4 times. Not surprisingly, among the defensive stars of the game was number 58, the Chiefs All-Pro rush linebacker.

Facing a fellow future Hall of Famer in Favre, Thomas notched two sacks, forced two fumbles, including the one that big No. 97 returned for a touchdown (cue the :38 second mark), and recored three other solo tackles in the contest.
