Criminal case reopened against Tyreek Hill, Crystal Espinal

Authorities have announced they’ve reopened the previously closed criminal cases for child abuse and child neglect against Tyreek Hill and his fiancee.
The legal reprieve for Tyreek Hill and his fiancee Crystal Espinal lasted only a few days.
Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe is reportedly reopening the criminal cases against both Hill and Espinal for child abuse and child neglect that were previously dismissed earlier this week.
On Wednesday, the D.A.’s office held a press conference with reporters saying the county would not pursue further charges due to the nature of the case—namely that it was impossible to tell who had committed any act of abuse. Howe wouldn’t say anything further, but it was insinuated that neither party in the case was telling on the other.
On Thursday, however, audio was obtained by KCTV featuring Hill and Espinal in 11 minutes of conversation discussing the case and the relationship with their three-year-old son, whose arm had been broken at some point which instigated this process. KCTV played audio clips on Thursday immediately before the 2019 NFL Draft was set to begin, and the wheels began to churn to bring the criminal case back open.
The audio recordings revealed disturbing details discussed between Hill and Espinal. By the evening’s end, general manager Brett Veach had called a late night press conference to announce the Chiefs had decided to suspend Hill from participating in all team activities for the “foreseeable future.” Veach stated the team would be investigating matters further before making any further moves—including releasing Hill.
Hill set the Chiefs all-time franchise record for receiving yards in 2018.
