The Chiefs are seemingly stacked on offense, but who could they add in free agency to give them ultimate flexibility heading into the draft?

Last week, we looked at the topic of defenders in free agency that could give the Kansas City Chiefs some draft flexibility.  They are all talented players, so each will likely find a new team in 2019. But currently, all four of these defenders still remain free agents. It will be interesting to see where they all sign—and if the Chiefs have any real interest.

Similarly, the Chiefs have not made any moves in the past week. They still have a large amount of cap space to spend, and it’s conceivable they are looking to spend at least a portion of that in free agency or through a trade. Knowing general manager Brett Veach, it’s likely the team wants to stay aggressive in adding to the roster.

Now, let’s switch the focus to the offensive side of the ball. The Chiefs’ offense in 2018 was one of the top offenses in NFL history. They were not the problem. In fact, they were so good, they were almost able to circumvent the problems on defense and make it to the organization’s first Super Bowl in 49 years. Unfortunately, “almost” is the key word.

My thoughts are, why not go with what got you there. Why not focus on offense both in free agency and the draft? If we add an offensive piece or two, this could take the offense from nearly unstoppable to actually unstoppable. With this in mind, who is left in free agency that might give the Chiefs ultimate flexibility heading into the draft?
