Week 13: VS Oakland Raiders, 12:00 PM, December 1st

Prediction: KC 38, OAK 3

Coming out of the bye, the home game against the Raiders will be one of the easiest of the season. Even with the talent Gruden will bolster his team with, it will still be no match for Mahomes and company. Unable to keep up with such an onslaught from an offensive behemoth of the Chiefs, the Raiders will fall to the former and improve the Chiefs’ winning streak to 12-0.

Week 14: AT New England Patriots, 3:25 PM, December 8th

Prediction: KC 48, NE 38

In another battle at Gillette Stadium, the Chiefs once again face off against quarterback Tom Brady and his legendary head coach, Bill Belichick. A Patriots offense without Rob Gronkowski is always a plus for the opposing team. Gronk retired this offseason after winning Super Bowl XLIII with the Patriots. As Gronkowski was one of the bigger problems the Chiefs had to deal with when they faced the Patriots, their path to victory will be a little easier.

The defense will still get to Mahomes, but not in a fashion that will hinder his performance too terribly. It will be another shootout, but one that the Chiefs pull away from the Patriots in as Spagnuolo puts his defense to work in the fourth quarter. The high-scoring affair should not deter fans from the defense, who would likely hold up all season up until this point due to going against one of the greatest minds in football in Belichick and Brady.

Week 15: VS Denver Broncos, 12:00 PM, December 15th

Prediction:  KC 31, DEN 10

The Chiefs should always expect the Broncos to play them close given the nature of their rivalry and the talent that the Broncos have left on defense. At home, however, the Chiefs should feel quite a bit better about their ability to defeat the Broncos for the second time this season. They’ve won 7 straight against the Broncos heading into this season, and there’s no reason it cannot be nine straight after the 2019 regular season is over.

Week 16: AT Chicago Bears, 7:20 PM, December 22nd (Sunday Night Football)

Prediction: CHI 35, KC 28

The Bears will be the team to topple the Chiefs, and what greater story than for a former apprentice to defeat his mentor. Head coach Matt Nagy, who assumed the head coaching position last season for Chicago, led the Bears to a postseason berth only to lose to the Philadelphia Eagles on a missed field goal. Despite the loss of Fangio as defensive coordinator, the Bears defense is still a major threat for the Chiefs, which will lead to the team’s first loss.

Week 17: VS Los Angeles Chargers, 12:00 PM Central, December 29th

Prediction: KC 31, LAC 24

As this game will likely have no playoff implications due to the Chiefs’ 14-win record, Reid will likely decide to rest some defensive and offensive starters. Regardless, the Chiefs have talented depth, especially post-draft, and can afford to rest its starters and still pull off a surprising Week 17 victory.

Final Record: 15-1
