Villanova offensive tackle Ethan Greenidge will visit Arrowhead Stadium on Monday as the Chiefs continue to check out draft prospects before month’s end.

The Kansas City Chiefs are allotted 30 total pre-draft visits with players before April’s big event, and news of their latest comes from Ian Rapoport with word that Villanova offensive tackle Ethan Greenidge will spend time getting to know the staff at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday.

Greenidge comes into the draft with a nice frame at 6’4, 327 lbs., as he weighed in at the 2019 NFL Combine. He comes with plenty of starting experience as a four-year starter for Nova at both left and right tackle—a total of 43 games. He was also a two-time All-CAA player, earning the honors in each of the last two seasons.

At this point before the draft, teams have likely set their draft boards up top, so any last minute visits or interviews are mostly about priority free agents—undrafted rookies who will be called by several teams in the minutes after the draft as teams hope to secure their services. Greenidge projects as one such player, a developmental project for the right team despite his starting experience.

For the Chiefs side of things, they’ve had great success in the past with developmental players along the line. Andrew Wylie went from a journeyman who couldn’t land a spot on an active roster to the team’s Rookie of the Year in 2018. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif went from a longshot sixth round pick to an entrenched starter at right guard. Zach Fulton was another sixth round choice from LDT’s rookie class who became a valuable sixth man, so to speak, and ended up landing a nice four-year contract with the Houston Texans last offseason.

The Chiefs could use a swing tackle since there’s no clear backup behind either Eric Fisher or Mitch Schwartz. However, in order for Greenidge to become that player, he’s got a long way to go before being that player.
