NFL Draft: Wide receiver prospects perfectly suited for the Kansas City Chiefs
Andy Isabella, Massachusetts
If the Kansas City Chiefs are looking for a good route runner with great speed and quickness and good hands to play in the slot there may not be a better option in this entire draft than UMass’s Andy Isabella.
To say that Isabella was highly productive last season would be an understatement. He recorded 101 receptions for 1,696 yards and 13 touchdowns. When you combine that production with his small stature (5-foot-8 and 188 pounds) you certainly get the image of a stereotypical slot receiver. However, Isabella proved at the combine that he is much more explosive than your typical possession receiver when he matched Parris Campbell’s 4.31 40-yard dash time.
While Campbell is the bigger name, Isabella is actually the better traditional route runner and while he profiles as a more typical slot receiver he also proved he can help take the top off a defense. While Campbell caught just two passes that were in the air over 20 yards, Isabella snagged 14 of them which was good for 11th best in college football. You can get a full profile of Isabella in Grant Tuttle’s piece on him right here at Arrowhead Addict.

Isabella is a personal favorite of mine and I would be thrilled to see them take him with one of their second round picks.
Next up let’s look at a SEC weapon that has huge big play upside.
