Malcom Brown

One defensive tackle that would be nice for the Chiefs is Malcom Brown of the New England Patriots. He’s been in the league four years and has started 51 games out of the 60 he’s played in. This last year, he started 14 games and put up 39 tackles.

During his career, he’s racked up 8.5 sacks and 186 tackles. He’s played all over the defensive line but primarily stayed at defensive tackle. If the Chiefs really needed to move him to the edge for some reason, he would be able to fill the role temporarily.

Though Brown is only 25, he would likely sign a cheap deal that is friendly to both him and the Chiefs. He would be a nice addition to play alongside current Chiefs defensive linemen Chris Jones, Derrick Nnadi, or Xavier Williams.

Timmy Jernigan

Another defensive tackle that would be a nice get for the Chiefs is Timmy Jernigan. Jernigan has played five seasons in the NFL, three with the Baltimore Ravens and most recently two with the Philadelphia Eagles.

He’s coming off a year where he only played in three games and only made two tackles. The four years before this, however, he started 41 games and played in 58. He was able to accumulate 15.5 sacks and 122 tackles over this period.

While his stats aren’t the most impressive, he would be a great player to sign to a cheap deal. It would be a low-risk deal for a player with a high ceiling and would be a nice addition to the defensive interior.
