Predicting the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2019 Season Schedule
By Drew Brooks
Week 6: Chiefs @ Patriots; 10/13, 7:20 P.M.
Nearing mid-season, we believe that the NFL will want to feature one of the best matchups of the season: the Chiefs versus the Patriots. A rematch of the thrilling AFC Championship, this will certainly be the NFL’s marquee matchup. This will be the third season in a row that the Chiefs will take a trip to Foxborough to take on the Patriots, and this will likely be the third season in a row that the Chiefs and Patriots play each other in a primetime game.
My prediction: 45-42 Chiefs win
Mason’s prediction: 42-38 Patriots win
Week 7: Chiefs @ Titans; 10/20, 3:25 P.M.
Next, we predict that the Chiefs will take a trip to Tennessee to play the Titans. The last time the Chiefs played the Titans, it was a playoff loss where Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota caught his own pass for a touchdown. With the Chiefs playing this one in Tennessee, it would be nice for the Chiefs to win to get a form of revenge.
My prediction: 31-28 Titans win
Mason’s prediction: 28-24 Chiefs win
Week 8: Chiefs Bye week
We predict that the Chiefs bye week will fall during week 8. While week 12 is ideal for a bye week, week 8 is right in the middle of the season and a nice week for the team to get a break and prepare for the second half of the season.
Week 9: Chiefs vs. Chargers; 11/3, 7:20 P.M.
Coming off their bye, we believe that the Chiefs will be under the lights on Sunday Night Football again, this time to play the Los Angeles Chargers. Last primetime game the Chiefs played against the Chargers was last year on Thursday Night Football that ended in a stunning 15-point Chargers comeback and a Chiefs loss. This would be a nice one for the Chiefs to redeem themselves in on Sunday night.
My prediction: 38-31 Chiefs win
Mason’s prediction: 35-31 Chiefs win
Week 10: Chiefs @ Raiders; 11/10, 12:00 P.M.
Following a primetime game against the Chargers, we predict that the Chiefs will stay in the division and take on the Raiders for the second time this season. If the Raiders are still playing in a baseball stadium, this late season game will be nice because the dirt will be covered up with new grass.
My prediction: 42-21 Chiefs win
Mason’s prediction: 34-20 Chiefs win
Week 11: Chiefs vs. Packers; 11/18, 7:15 P.M.
Next, we believe the Chiefs will get to play on Monday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers. This should be one of the more anticipated games of the season, seeing the young Patrick Mahomes take on Aaron Rodgers under the lights in primetime.
My prediction: 49-45 Packers win
Mason’s prediction: 30-27 Packers win
