The Kansas City Chiefs 2019 opponents are set, so it’s time to predict what the season schedule will look like along with way-too-early predictions.

The Kansas City Chiefs 2019 opponents have been set, but we won’t find out what the official schedule will look like until sometime in April. While we wait, there are plenty of offseason events such as Free Agency and the 2019 NFL Draft to look forward to.

But before we learn what the schedule will look like, fellow contributor Mason Whitlock and I put together our predictions for what we think next year’s schedule will look like as well as a way-too-early season prediction based on the schedule.

(All times listed in Central Standard Time.)

Week 1: Chiefs vs. Raiders; 9/8, 12:00 P.M.

With the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers starting the 2019 season, we won’t get to see the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots open the season for an AFC Championship rematch like some hoped for. It’s likely that the Patriots will get the nod to play Sunday Night Football, which could be against the Chiefs; however, we believe that the NFL will save the marquee matchup until closer to mid-season for a ratings boost. We predict that the Chiefs will be starting the season off at Arrowhead against the division rival Oakland Raiders.

My prediction: 38-10 Chiefs win

Mason’s prediction: 31-10 Chiefs win

Week 2: Chiefs @ Jaguars; 9/15, 12:00 P.M.

After starting the season at home, we predict that the Chiefs will take a trip to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. This game will be a rematch of last year’s week 5 home game that the Chiefs won 30-14. With the Jaguars lacking offensively, this game is unlikely to be played under the lights on Sunday night.

My prediction: 31-17 Chiefs win

Mason’s prediction: 41-20 Chiefs win

Week 3: Chiefs vs. Colts; 9/22, 7:20 P.M.

Coming back to Arrowhead for the first primetime game of the season, we predict that the Chiefs will take on the Indianapolis Colts. This makes the most sense to be the Chiefs’ first primetime game, as it will feature a rematch of the AFC Divisional game. This will feature a likely bolstered Colts roster, as they have over 100 million in cap space to dip deep into free agency, and will have the potential to be one of the season’s best primetime games.

My prediction: 34-27 Chiefs win

Mason’s prediction: 27-24 Chiefs win

Week 4: Chiefs @ Broncos; 9/29, 3:25 P.M.

Following a primetime game, we predict that the Chiefs will take a road trip to face the division rival Denver Broncos who they haven’t lost to since 2015. The Chiefs won’t be seeing a new quarterback, but they will be seeing one new to the Bronco uniform. The Broncos acquired (now former) Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco in a trade as a way to move on from quarterback Case Keenum, and are hoping Flacco will be the difference maker.

My prediction: 35-24 Chiefs win

Mason’s prediction: 31-28 Chiefs win

Week 5: Chiefs vs. Ravens; 10/6, 12:00 P.M.

Speaking of the Baltimore Ravens, we predict that the Chiefs will be back at Arrowhead for a rematch of last year’s overtime game next. This time around, there won’t be any quarterback controversy surrounding Joe Flacco and Lamar Jackson for the Ravens with Flacco in Denver. The starting quarterback for the Ravens will most likely be Lamar Jackson once again for this matchup.

My prediction: 31-27 Chiefs win

Mason’s prediction: 31-20 Chiefs win
