ROUND 6

With the Chiefs now in the sixth round, it’s time to once again address the offense. Tight end Travis Kelce is not getting any younger, and it does not seem like fellow tight end Demetrius Harris is a good replacement option in case anything happens to Kelce, or he simply slows down due to age.

Drafting a small school tight end has risks, but it also comes with huge benefits. One such case is with tight end Donald Parham out of Stetson, who could fall due to competition concerns or lack of game tape.

With a whopping frame of 6’8″, 240 pounds, he reminds me of former Philadelphia Eagles receiver Harold Carmichael in terms of size. He was taken in the seventh round of the 1971 NFL Draft. Times are ever-changing, and the passing game is taking an increased role as the NFL experiences growth and changes.

In his last season at Stetson, Parham tallied 1319 receiving yards on 85 receptions, notching 13 touchdowns to go along with it. In his four years at the school, he totaled 2591 yards on 180 receptions, coming in at an average of 14.4 yards per reception.

He has exceptional hands and is definitely a receiving tight end. His speed works against him, and he will need to be able to make an impact at tight end to stay on a roster, especially with the Chiefs. If he is able to beef up quite a bit more, he may have a chance at being a solid blocker. At 6’8″, 240 pounds, his frame is not exceptionally heavy.
