CHASE LITTON, QB

Speaking of fan favorites, Chase Litton was one of Kansas Citys darlings all offseason. Most had expected Kansas City to keep three quarterbacks, with Litton filling that third spot over veteran Matt McGloin. Instead, the Chiefs only kept two quarterbacks on the active roster and took the risk of having Litton on the practice squad. Somehow no quarterback-needy teams decided to pick up Litton. The 6’5 233 pound rookie had a decent preseason, throwing for 299 yards and a touchdown in his limited action.

This is another situation where the Chiefs could be looking to save money by having Litton as Patrick Mahomes primary backup. The Chiefs could save $2.5 million if they were to move on from veteran backup Chad Henne. Litton may not be ready to be the full-time backup this season, but it seems the long term plan is for him to be quarterback two.
