AARON RIPKOWSKI, FB

The most recent player to be signed to a reserve/futures contract is Aaron Ripkowski. Unlike most of the players that have been signed at this point, Ripkowski is a veteran that was drafted back in 2015 by the Green Bay Packers. He played 15 games his rookie season but his role at the time was not that big. In 2016 he became the starter at fullback and rushed for two touchdowns, while also catching nine receptions. 2017 was another down year for Ripkowski stats wise, and on September 1st of this past year, he was released from the Packers.

Ripkowski never caught on with another team after that, with so few fullbacks in football as it is this isn’t a huge surprise. It also makes much sense for the Chiefs to bring in proven talent at the position. Kansas City paid Anthony Sherman $2 million this year to play 98 snaps which translate to just 9.38% of the total offensive plays this season. We all love the sausage, but with the Chiefs trying to extend the likes of Tyreek Hill and Chris Jones they cannot afford the luxury of having him at that price point anymore.
