Chiefs notes: Players have babies, Patrick Mahomes has a baseball impersonator
By Matt Conner
In our latest round-up of random Chiefs notes and news clips, Major League pitcher Chris Archer says he’s mistaken for Patrick Mahomes and lots of babies.
How well do you think you would do at recognizing a pro athlete out and about? What if that pro athlete was the face of your favorite franchise?
In today’s round-up of random news and notes concerning the Kansas City Chiefs, we’ve got nothing but positive news (babies!) and a clerk who knows she’s looking at a professional athlete of some kind. We’ll start there.
Chris Archer says he doesn’t see it. We’re inclined to agree. Archer, now a righthander with the Pittsburgh Pirates, says he was running an errand as normal as going to the pharmacy when he had an interesting exchange:
Just for comparison, that’s Archer in the photo above for this article. We’ll also post another one here:
I wonder what few things he tried to do to show her that it wasn’t Mahomes. Did he attempt a left-handed pass? Maybe the clerk is smart enough to know that Mahomes can throw a baseball, too. Who knows, but that has to be funny to be a pro athlete, be approached as if someone knows you, only to have that person think you’re the QB for the Chiefs.
In other Chiefs related news, we’ve got two of the newest additions to Chiefs Kingdom in the form of players having babies!
We’d like to wish a heart congratulations to both Harrison and Isabelle Butker on the birth of their new son, James Augustine.
Three days later, safety Jordan Lucas and his wife Taylor joined the fray with a beautiful newborn son of his own, Jayce Carter Lucas.
While the Chiefs aren’t in the Super Bowl, the week leading up to the big game has produced some good news in the lives of individual players who are adding new family members to cheer them on. We wish these families, and that clerk at CVS, all the best.
