LESLIE FRAZIER

It’s unknown if this would even work because technically it’s a lateral move. Frazier is already the defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills.

Even the idea of hiring Frazier for the role of defensive coordinator would likely take some paperwork and finesse, but the reality is that Frazier works for Sean McDermott and both men owe a debt of gratitude to Andy Reid for his help in mentoring both over the years. Maybe Reid wouldn’t want to mess with the friendship and chemistry developing in Buffalo, but if he did, he’d find a familiar voice who would work really well with the Chiefs in Frazier.

Frazier had lackluster results as a first-time head coach with the Minnesota Vikings earlier this decade, but he’s remained a well-respected defensive coordinator who has served with the Bucs, Ravens, and Bills in the years since getting fired in Minnesota.

Last year, the Bills jumped from 26th to 2nd in the NFL in yards allowed as a defense in Frazier’s second season. Frazier’s experience as a head coach as well as his many years as a defensive coordinator would give the Chiefs an immediate leader who would plug right in and go to work.

Then again, that whole lateral move thing might make this a moot point.
