NFL announces Kansas City Chiefs will play Chargers in Mexico City in 2019

The National Football League will once again push the Kansas City Chiefs and a team from L.A. upon the horribly maintained football fields of Mexico City.
The National Football League announced next year’s internationally-scheduled games for 2019 on Monday, and the Kansas City Chiefs are once again slated to be the visiting team in their one-game experiment in Mexico City.
The complete list of international games includes four new games in London as their Euro-expansion continues over the years. Now the league remains committed to trying the Mexico City run again despite last year’s complete debacle that included re-routing the entire game to Los Angeles (much to the chagrin of many football fans who were left stranded without seeing their favorite teams).
The NFL moved the game from Mexico City last year due to the horrendous condition of the field of play at Aztec Stadium. The Los Angeles Rams were scheduled to be the host team and the Chiefs were the visitors, which is why the Monday Night showdown was ultimately moved to L.A.
This coming season, another L.A.-based team, the Chargers, will be the hosts, which means an important divisional showdown in the AFC West will be played in Mexico City. It’s also a good bet that the NFL will be heavy-handed as the city prepares to host the game, which should mean decent field conditions when it comes time to play.
Other games included on the international slate, all of which are in London, including the following: Carolina Panthers at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears at the Oakland Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals at the Los Angeles Rams, and the Houston Texans at the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Final details of when these games will be scheduled during the season will come later when the NFL announces the official schedules for the 2019 regular season.
