5. DEE FORD IS OFFSIDES

But the game was not all at the fault of the officials. The Chiefs shot themselves in the foot several times. Most notably when Chiefs linebacker Dee Ford lined up in the neutral zone one of the game’s most crucial plays:

It appeared that Chiefs cornerback Charvarius Ward had a game-clinching interception, but was called back because Dee Ford was lined up inches in the neutral zone. Not to mention the fact that Patriots’ left tackle Trent Brown was lined up seemingly in the backfield.

Despite anything, however, Dee Ford needs to understand where the ball is at. Especially as a player in the NFL, Dee Ford cannot allow a mistake like this to happen in a big game. Mental slips such as Ford’s mistake cost the Chiefs greatly, and ultimately are a large reason why the Patriots, and not the Chiefs, will be playing for the Lombardi Trophy.
