Kyle Brandt, a host on Good Morning Football, was so confident in the Colts that he said he would wear a barrel on Monday morning’s program.

The entire affair started with a bold prediction.

In a world of talking heads spewing stupidity, we shouldn’t be surprised when someone has to go over the top to get noticed, and Kyle Brandt did just that on Good Morning Football. On the NFL Network’s morning show, Brandt went out on a limb and not only said he would wear a barrel to work on the broadcast if he was wrong.

His prediction? That the Indianapolis Colts would defeat the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs at Arrowhead Stadium. Here’s the clip.

Give credit to Brandt for backing his horse all week. Here’s another clip where he fawns over his Colts.

What makes this even worse is that, in addition to the prediction, Brandt even did a whole Colts-as-Hoosiers cast speech before the game. Hear this nonsense:

As disgusting as the complete lack of respect for the Chiefs can be, Brandt is also a man of his word. He was prepared and ready to go into the broadcast wearing the barrel he said he would sport.

Even the Chiefs themselves acknowledged they’d be watching him eat his words.

Of course, all of this is a ruse. That’s what talking heads do. They get you to talk about their own talk in the hopes that such a megaphone effect will generate more viewers which generates more money. All that said, it’s nice to see a guy who trashed the Chiefs sit in a barrel every once in a while.
