How does Josh Allen fit with the Chiefs?

The Kansas City Chiefs have some decisions to make on the defensive side of the ball in the next year. Gone are the days of Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson. Dee Ford is scheduled to hit free agency this offseason, and Justin Houston has struggled to live up to his paycheck. There is no denying the Chiefs defense will continue the rebuild that began in last year’s all-defensive draft.

The NFL, now more than ever, is a passing league and the ability to affect the quarterback has game-changing implications. If the Chiefs decide to move on from Dee Ford or Justin Houston, or even both players, they will need to secure a replacement.

Josh Allen may be the perfect man for the job.

Allen could be a special talent at pass rusher, and while the Chiefs may have to move up in the 2019 NFL Draft to land him, that is a small price to pay for a player who could change the course of a game. Josh Allen has that kind of ability.

I am reminded a lot of current Minnesota Viking linebacker Anthony Barr, since both players have excellent size and can do anything asked of them. Allen has not proven to be the athlete that Barr was as a prospect, but he has produced well and would be a welcome addition to the Red and Gold.
