The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio already has one piece of memorabilia from Patrick Mahomes—a likely sign of further things to come.

Patrick Mahomes is already a part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Kansas City Chiefs first-year starter at quarterback is not exactly an inductee, but Mahomes does already have a piece of memorabilia on display from a record-setting season under center.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio not only exhibits biographies, busts and highlights from the greatest who have ever played the game, but they also celebrate individual highlights, records and accomplishments that happen along the way.

The exhibit featuring Mahomes’s jersey comes from his performance in Week 2, a road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mahomes opened the year by setting an NFL record for most touchdown passes in his first two games with a total of 10. Mahomes had 6 touchdown passes alone against the Steelers—an incredible feat when you consider the competition (and that the first week featured four more touchdowns against the L.A. Chargers).

Against the Steelers, the Chiefs not only put away a monkey on their back given their inability to beat Pittsburgh in quite some time, but the team also served notice that this year would be different. Mahomes went 23 of 28 for 326 passing yards and those 6 touchdowns. He was also only sacked once and didn’t throw a single interception.

Mahomes currently has 45 touchdown passes on the year. With two games left to play in the regular season, he’s currently tied for sixth all-time among NFL single-season leaders and stands a very good chance of passing Tom Brady for No. 2 all time (50). Peyton Manning holds the all-time record with 55 (2013).
