The ESPN commentator decided to give his take on the Chiefs vs. Chargers and decides a key match-up involves players who aren’t even there.
If you Stephen A. Smith, general loudmouth and/or blowhard for ESPN, the key match-up to watch on Thursday Night Football will come down to Hunter Henry going up against Derrick Johnson.
No, this is not 2016.
Somehow ESPN trusts Smith enough to invite him to comment on anything and everything these days, because Smith clearly has no idea what he’s talking about when it comes to the NFL—or at least the current rosters. Maybe he’s playing Madden ’15. Maybe he’s been trading slightly dated football cards in his spare time. Who knows?
Check out this incredible clip for yourself:
This is exactly what happens when you don’t know football.. HUNTER HENRY HASN’T PLAYED ALL YEAR!! Look at Bruschi face 😂😂 #Wtf #OhDearGod #WatchFootballBro #DnD pic.twitter.com/fnlQEFevMl

As you watch, it’s clear his first error is assuming that Spencer Ware is going to come up big tonight when the Chiefs back is likely not going to play at all given that he’s officially listed as doubtful with a shoulder injury—one he suffered last week when slammed to the ground against the Baltimore Ravens. If that were the only mistake, you wouldn’t be reading anything about this right now.
But from there, Smith goes on and on as if he has incredible insight, only he’s name dropping the Chiefs Pro Bowl offense and then says, “I’m also looking at the San Diego Chargers on offense. I’m thinking about Hunter Henry and the way he’s played this year. He’s going up against Derrick Johnson…”
What we likely missed was even more commentary. Smith likely went on to say how much he anticipates the offensive adjustments of Hank Stram and how Steve Atwater is going to make all the difference on defense tonight—somehow for both teams.
