Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid provided an update on the club’s top receiver heading into Week 15 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

After suffering injuries to the heel and wrist in Week 14 against the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Tyreek Hill‘s status against the Los Angeles Chargers heading into a short four-day week was uncertain.

Hill, who was a nonparticipant in practice on Monday, was reportedly practicing on Tuesday. Reports were that Hill was going to see how he felt; it appears he is feeling alright as Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that Hill should be OK to play against the Chargers.

Hill practiced with a sizeable amount of tape over his cleat, but nonetheless was cutting and running, and looked to be doing good, according to Michele Steele of ESPN. Having Hill available and healthy for a divisional matchup against one of the AFC’s top teams in the Chargers is not only huge–it’s imperative. Even though Hill practiced in a limited fashion, it’s still relieving to see him practice regardless of the capacity.

Hill is Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ favorite target, with a clear chemistry between the young quarterback and young wide receiver all season long. Having his top target available against a vaunting Chargers defense led by standout rookie safety Derwin James would definitely help the Chiefs in several ways, as his versatility and agility are unrivaled.

With the addition of former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, who was signed by the Chiefs last week, a speedy and electric Hill coupled with a large and athletic red zone target could make for a great combination. Hill’s health is still somewhat of a concern, but if Reid’s words are reassuring in the slightest, he should be ready to play in one of the most important games of the regular season.
