The Kansas City Chiefs released a video on its Twitter that was all but an indicator of its star safety Eric Berry returning to the field in Week 15.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ Twitter account gave fans some hope (and hype) on Wednesday, releasing a video that featured Chiefs players like quarterback Patrick Mahomes, wide receiver Tyreek Hill and a new main focus: Eric Berry.

If you’re as anxious about Berry’s return as I am, then this video will give you chills. Perhaps this move is the Chiefs’ way of announcing Berry’s return? It would be a major tease and slap in the face if Berry didn’t end up playing after the release of this video.

Unless the marketing department is a rogue entity, I don’t see how there’s any way he doesn’t play after this (and I’m overjoyed to say that).

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Saturday night that Berry is expected to make his season debut in Week 15 against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football. Berry, who has not played a game since Week 1 of the 2017 NFL season, had also not practiced in several months—since August 11th—due to a sore heel. After returning to practice, Berry’s status had been elevated from doubtful to questionable in Week 13 against the Oakland Raiders, although he did not play.

Schefter reported that while Berry and the Chiefs did not expect Berry to play in Week 14, they’re working on getting him back for the Chargers game. The woeful defense of the Chiefs has suffered enormously without Berry leading them.

Berry’s long-awaited turn is filled with mixed emotions, namely focusing on if he’s able to come back and dominate or if he’s going to have noticeable struggles as the team prepares for its playoff run. In perhaps its most important game of the season, the Chiefs face off against the 10-3 Chargers on Thursday. Having Berry back would provide a huge boost for the defense and a fan base hungry to see their hero once again.
