Final Analysis:

My heart and brain are telling me two different things. My brain says that it would be a wise move, given the Chiefs offensive design and cap situation if they went to a “committee” system. I think drafting and singing running backs that compliment certain aspects of the offense and using them for distinct purposes would be wise for the future. In this system, the Chiefs can create even more issues for teams defensively.

My heart, on the other hand, wants the Chiefs to go sign Le’Veon Bell. Can you imagine? How in the world could you stop that offense? With receivers that compliment one another’s ability paired with a running back that does literally everything well, it seems like it could easily be the best offense in the history of football.

It seems more likely that the Chiefs will go to a “by committee” system until they have a running back that emerges as a dominant player. If they draft players, it may be a question of separating themselves from the rest of the pack. Time will tell and I am interested to see what the Chiefs plan to do next.
