Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill will appeal the ridiculous fine handed down to him on Friday by the NFL for taunting versus the Rams.

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is reporting the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill will be fined just over $10,000 for “taunting” in Week 11 during the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football.

Hill ended up with two touchdowns on the day, and at the end of his longest, a 73-yard touchdown catch and run, Hill threw up his traditional peace sign. Unsurprisingly, on a night that was already stocked full with shady officiating decisions made by a mysterious NFL all-star crew of referees and officials, the league has decided to further punish Hill for a gesture he’s put up all season without any sort of concern.

Even worse, Hill now has to pay a large sum of money for a player who is already massively underpaid for his production. No one would normally complain about making as much as a fifth-round rookie, but the reality is that Hill makes far less than most of his colleagues producing half as much on the field. In short, $10K is a lot more to Tyreek Hill than it is to some others in the NFL.

If anything, here’s hoping Clark Hunt slips him a fresh $10K under the table if he’s forced to pay the rumored fine. Hill has been a revelation for the Chiefs since he first arrived in the NFL, and it won’t be too long before this sort of fine is a pittance compared to the extension dollars the Chiefs are bound to pay soon enough.

Hill has 1,106 receiving yards on the season to go with his career high of 11 receiving touchdowns.
