The upcoming L.A. Rams versus Kansas City Chiefs showdown in primetime has us wondering what other games have been as highly anticipated in recent years.

The calendar has been marked for months.

Ever since the NFL first unveiled the regular season schedule, fans and analysts have circled the Kansas City Chiefs versus Los Angeles Rams showdown in Mexico City as a game to watch. There are several reasons that this game was already highly anticipated due to the international flavor and the high-octane offenses involved. From there, the Marcus Peters trade created another great subplot.

Now, however, it’s not just pitting one exciting offensive display against another. This is a very real preview for the potential Super Bowl pairing. The Chiefs are the class of the AFC, disposing of one opponent after another in Patrick Mahomes first season as a starting quarterback. The team is setting records on offense even as they get better on defense, which bodes well for their postseason hopes.

As for the Rams, Sean McVay has his team flying high as the only other team in the NFL with a single loss to their credit. Todd Gurley is a frontrunner for Offensive Player of the Year and Aaron Donald has it locked up on the defensive side. The Rams can dominate on both sides of the ball, which means the Chiefs are in for a very real test—the biggest since their only loss at New England.

Given the level of anticipation, we thought we’d count down the most anticipated non-playoff games in Andy Reid’s six-year tenure with the Chiefs in no particular order.

If we had to narrow it down to five, it all starts in the beginning.
